Will and Maxine’s Washington Oaks Engagement Session is on the blog!
These two absolutely gorgeous people met me bright and early and we were able to capture the gorgeous colors of the sunrise thanks to the Sahara dust. The bright pink and purple was so vibrant that I couldn’t stop taking pictures!
Washington Oaks is one of my favorite places to shoot because we get a gorgeous beach and a beautiful garden right across the street!

The Beginning of Their Love Story
This gorgeous couple first met briefly at TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville Florida in the summer of 2017. After meeting, they were so excited to spend the summer together really getting to know one another better After meeting each other we both were so excited to spend the summer together really getting to know one another better on a study abroad trip to Cape Town, South Africa.
The trip was unforgettable and they really hit it off. They knew I’d have to see him again once we were back in the United States. At the time, Will called Knoxville home and Maxine was a student at Auburn University. They kept in touch for months via text and drove back and forth from Knoxville to Auburn to visit each other often. Will popped the girlfriend question that November and they both knew that this relationship was in it for the long haul.
Maxine says that she knew from the beginning that Will was someone special and could see a forever with. They both put in the extra work that long distance relationships need and continued to visit each other on the weekends. After about a year of dating, their parents finally met in Auburn. Their families blended so well together and which made them even more excited for their future!
After graduating college in the spring of 2019, Will decided he needed to be with his best friend more than on the weekends and made the big decision to move to Florida with Maxine. This was big for him since he had lived in Tennessee his entire life! They were thrilled to finally live together, be in the same city for once and officially be done with long distance! Woo-hoo!! They moved into their first house and adopted two adorable puppies. A few months later, while in the BVI for Christmas, Will popped the even bigger question and asked Maxine to be his wife! She was so surprised and over the moon!
Washington Oaks Engagement Session
Meeting them for their Washington Oaks Engagement Session was awesome, even at 6am! Getting to know them has been a pleasure and so fun to see that we have traveled to so many of the same places. They are not only gorgeous as everyone can obviously see, but kind and hardworking as well! We are so happy to be able to document these next big steps for Will and Maxine and can’t wait for their May wedding next year.
