A little more than three years ago, Mike and Nina first met through mutual friends at a recreational kickball league social event. It happened to be Nina’s 26th birthday! Mike approached Nina and asked her about the Ohio State University drink koozie she was holding. Nina thought Mike was going to heckle her for being an Ohio State fan but, as it it turns out, Mike is an Ohio State fan from Ohio, too! This instantly sparked a friendship relationship between them, over their common love for Ohio sports and of course, being from Ohio. They remained only friends until six months later when Mike offered to help Nina move. Two days later, they went out on their first official date and began spending nearly all of their free time together. One year and eight months later, Mike proposed to Nina at the lakefront park close to where he grew up in Ohio. Of course she said yes! Mike and Nina will get married on their three-year anniversary in October 🙂 !
